About Our Club
|
The Kiwanis Club of Conway, South Carolina was chartered
63 years ago with 51 members. The club entered the new century having grown to nearly 150 members to become the largest in
South Carolina Kiwanis Club.
Applying its new motto, "Serving the Children of the Area," the club has
become an integral part of the City of Conway and the surrounding area. The annual Christmas Party for children with special
needs includes many of the schools in the county. The club's sponsored youth organizations are now in eight schools and
additional school groups are planned for the near future.
First Woman President On September 26, 2005, Sherry
Harrelson, a former Key Clubber, became the club's first woman to be president. Emphasizing her strong focus on Sponsored
Youth, members from Circle K, Key Clubs, Builders Clubs and K-Kids are frequent visitors to our meetings.
Our club
meets every Tuesday, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at 315 Main St. (Benton Hall), Conway. Guests are welcomed with one stipulation ---
you let us know you are present! This enables us to give you a warm welcome to our fellowship so you, too, can share in the
our noontime respite.
Dear reader, be assured that our club meetings are only the tip of the iceberg in understanding
the scope of this fellowship and the benefits of a membership in the Kiwanis Club of Conway. By clicking on to the other topics
above, you can get a broader view of the enjoyable Kiwanis spirit of fellowship that comes from mutual effort devoted to great
and useful service to the community..
